Recommend me some tyres please

Recently discovered I need a new set (mainly rear though) on my Mini.
Started to get slippy in the dry and tail happy in the rain. When a car as short as a Mini gets tail happy I think it is time for a tyre change. So suggest away please!
Also probably handy to mention I have 12x4.5 Mini lites.

You will probably be limitd due to the size of wheel.

Have you looked at camskill or black circles.

I struggled to get tyres for my morgan last year, and ended up with conti ct22's which have been fine. Much better than the old tyres and have survived a couple of trackdays and 25k miles so far

Think you can get yokohama A drive at that size. Very good in the wet and not too expensive either. My mother has them on her midget at 155/70 x 13 and I've got them on my B at 185/70 x 14. I had 5 minis with various engines / spax combos and seem to remember the yokohamas being the best tyres on them (last of my minis went in 1994 ish though!)

You must be able to get the old Yokohama A539's!? All my mini mates love them! I had them on my 106 GTI and thought they were quite good!

What actual tyre size go on those wheels?

Looking at all 12" tyres 145/70 has the most options and out of that list I can highly recommend the Toyo 330, it's doing very well on my girlfriends KA.

I just wanted to know what people suggest are good and Yokohama seem to be the way forward.

Definitely go for 165/60R12 tyre size. Don't consider moving up to a 13" wheel, it'll make the car feel heavy and rubbish.

as above, the falkens last longer and are better in the wet but the yokohamas were great for summer, cant remember if they did the yokohama a008's in that size?

Not exactly on-topic but I was at Beaulieu the other day and noticed one of theirs was running Yoko Parada 2s...
