We've been asked to assist with locating an Audi Quattro for a photoshoot taking place in London.

The theme is, rather predictably, an Ashes to Ashes one, so if you have (or know of) a suitable car the contact details are below.

Quattro request said:
London based PR agency have a requirement for a loan of an Audi Quattro in red, 1983 model - for a couple of hours week commencing May 9th.

The car will be used in an Ashes to Ashes type photoshoot at the iconic Battersea Power Station.

As a thank you the kind owner will be rewarded with some professional pics of his / her car.

Interested in getting involved? Please email karenp@performancepr.co.uk
Thanks guys smile

Joust might be an appropriate man to talk to about this one

I would love to see the photos from that shoot! My favourite car next to my favourite British building. The actual car used in Ashes to Ashes is parked in front of BBC TV Centre, they don't seem to do a lot with it in terms of maintenance unfortunately frown

It is possible that for a large donation to Children in Need, they might let it be used.

I've emailed Karen. I'm quite happy to fire up the Quattro for a few photos in return.

As an aside, why are they called Ur-Quattros?

Ur is shorthand in German for Original.

Ergo Original Quattro. And IMHO, the only Quattro smile

Ur simply means "original" as in "prototype" / "early" rather than in reference to condition.

Get in contact with the beeb. It seems a waste if it is just sitting there.

For a short history lession, Ur was the name given to the first City apparently built by man - in Judaic myth it was the home of Abraham and Sarah and located in what is now Iraq.

Might be worth asking on the 'classic audi' forum, loads of people with Quattros, including my Dad. Unfortunately his is white ... And in bits!

Red one sourced, and it's whole.

Garlick - let Karen know I've emailed her.

It's currently SORNd as I only run it over the mid summer, but happy to put it back on the road or a darn sight easier would be for them to just arrange for it to be trailered there & back.

Piccies and a mention that PH sourced it will be ample return.

The Quattro looks better than the Maser and Noble in that pic. Maybe it is just a colour thing wink

I'm glad it wasn't just me that thought that. Maybe it is the rectilinear design of the house/barn that matches the Audi.

To be honest, the Quattro looks better than most cars.

Is it just me or are the lights the later models? Didn't think they came in until about 83/83...
