Unearthed Dad's Classic Car

Last taxed in 1983, my father has had this Singer Gazelle stored in the garage since then. He had a nut and bolt restoration done which took a year (with pics to show), used it for a couple of years and then stored it.
At the weekend we took the cover off after many years, and he has now asked me to sell it for him, but I have no idea how much it is worth, or where to sell - any ideas?
The car and paintwork are in great condition, no rust, carpets and roof are in excellent condition - apart from a few mouse droppings in the floor. The chrome could all do with a redoing.
White marks on the body work are plastic stickers which should come off fine.
Also is the numberplate worth anything?

As a starting point, a few of the Classic Car mags have price guides in the back - a bit rough and ready, but it'll give you a ball park figure. I haven't got one to hand at the moment, but will have a look in Practical Classics when I get home tonight.
Might also be worth dropping the Singer Owners Club a line - there's bound to be shed loads of useful knowledge there (and maybe even a buyer!). http://www.singeroc.free-online.co.uk/

And it would be a crying shame (IMHO) to take the plate off, assuming it is the car's original plate.

Practical classics like this tend to go for around £4000 - £6000 so I would suggest something around that range. Given the slightly depressed state of the market, maybe £4000 with an MOT and plenty of documentation? But hey, I am just some random bloke on the internet.....

As above, if the plate was on the car originally, it is better off staying on the car. Personally, I don't think the plate has a great value on its own anyway (£800-1000?) but even so, a classi IMO is better off with the original plate.Please don't separate the plate from the car though (if you intend selling the car)
