My girlfriend who despite owning a nice Corsa VXR has not once, ever given it any stick, and will almost always pull away slowest at lights.
A friend who pointed to the airbox in my car and asked if it was the turbo
Another friend who is currently sitting on a circa 80K bonus, still drives a 1.1 peugeot 106

Why not far better then spending it on a car which he has no interest in to fit in with the resale grey sheepMy brother is the most un PH person I ever met. He thinks the revs are "something to do with the fanbelt". Still not passed his test after nearly 15 years...
I knew an accountant (why's it always accountants) that bought a Perodua Nippa because it "made sense".
So he paid his £5k for his brand new car and even HE HATED it, with a vengance!
He hated it even more when after a year of ownership he was offered £200 for it in PX (it was f****d)
Laugh? I nearly bought a round

A mate of mine who took five years to pass his test, drives like his instructor's sitting behind him, and once attached a post-it note to the wheel of his Focus to remind him he'd parked it in gear as he feared that starting the engine without noticing this could cause him to drive straight through the wall of his girlfriend's house (the drive is on a steep upward slope and he'd parked it in first).

its because accountants are good with money and known for being at tight as a badgers arse.
That and the thought of depreciation does not make financial sense.
So losing £4800 on a £5000 car in one year is 'good economical sense' then ? That and the thought of depreciation does not make financial sense.

I'm just glad the chap I mentioned isn't my accountant! My accountant drives a rather sublime XKR Conv. and she's only 39

Says that no car can be worth more than £3,000. Says that cars with more than 100bhp are pointless (despite moaning that her car with 90bhp, needs at least twice as much, and is a gold Renault Scenic).
One of my friends who actually thought that the brake pedal had two modes. Off. And "THERES A BRICK WALL 30 YARDS AWAY!! AAAAHHHHHHHHHH" and stamp on the middle pedal.
