Lotus Evora S or Nissan GT-R? Which One?

Which one would everyone pick if they had the choice, and why?

Two very different cars, but both similarly priced new...

GTR for me, something about the way it looks, plus the scope for so many upgrades as you get bored

Think i would go lotus, i would think the long term running costs would be more manageable.

Evora every day of the week, I personally wouldn't want to be seen dead in a GTR

I'm a huge fan of the GTR and love the way it looks, with it's almost muscle car styling. But for me it'd be an easy pick of the Lotus. Why? Because it's prettier, classier, looks more like a supercar inside and out. Far rarer and it's a Lotus. I also suspect that once you get past the GTR's pace and realise how little of it you can use on the public roads, you'd likely find the Lotus far more fun to drive far more of the time.

I love the lotus and i expect it to be more nimble, but the gtr wins ot for me by being more muscular looking and i expect more brutal in the speed stakes as well as having lots of toys.

That's what I'm thinking. Being mid-engine I'd expect the Lotus to be fun more of the time. Plus it's a bit more special than a GTR.

Depends really. Do you want massive shove or a nimble chassis with nice steering? I would expect that GTR do have far better depreciation than the evora as well, lotus have not sold many...

GTR for me. You might not use it's immense pace day to day, but the Lotus is no slouch either, and you wouldn't use more than 20% of it's cornering ability on a normal day either.

I think the GTR would be a much nicer car to live with though, bigger, more comfortable, 4WD, etc.

Ooooh. Tough one. I think the huge shove of the GTR would be the winner for me, but would have to have a good look at the Lotus as if they're as good as people make out then I may reverse that decision

Depends, If I had enough money in the long term, probably the GTR. If I had less money, the Evora.

I've not driven either, though I have had a decent passenger ride in an Evora. I'm a window shopping fan of both cars though, and have read lots of reviews. I had to think twice, but I'd definitely have the Evora. At the end of the day, we have speed limits in this country that make anything more than a 318i feel too fast, so all the feedback and poise of the Evora would be welcome entertainment whilst keeping things legal. The trouble is that it's just not a pretty car, and I couldn't bring myself to spend £60k on a car that I didn't enjoy looking at.

In truth, my £60k would either go on a selection of cars: cars like the Lotus 2-11, Caterham R500, 996 GT3, 996 GT2, BMW E92 M3, Honda NSX or Exige S, or maybe even just a single used Ferrari F430.

Gtr, it just simply appeals to me - the size of thing, plus pace.
Looks alright too, despite aerodynamics-friendly shape.

It would be the GT-R for me, I just dont feel inspired when I look at the Evora.
