Insurance observation

Both my motorbike and car renewals coming up and so it's time to spend some money. The best quotes I have so far:

2009 Honda Fireblade, 0-100mph in under 6 seconds, top speed north of 175mph, valued at £7,000, driving for 5 years, insured for 5,000 miles per annum: £227

1997 Ford Mondeo, valued at £500, 0-100mph most likely impossible, top speed unknown, driving for 15 years, insured for 5,000 miles per annum: £228

You all need to go out and buy superbikes, now!

25 years with out a claim on a car , 6 years on bike ((lost some ncb 'cos some rep mobile drivin tt couldn't work out how to go round a roundabout, have a little permanent nerve damage in my fingers because of it) same annual mileage...........

exactly m8 ,personally i'd at least try something before i thought i was in a position to comment on it

This is actually true, joint with the fact that if your bike hits anything, there will be alot less damage then if your car hits something.

This is the only reason why I could figure out a bike is so cheap to insure. At 21/22 when I got my bike licence, jumping onto something with a 0-60 of 4 seconds that can do 160mph, with no experience, and is easier to steal than a car.. and the insurance works out at around 1/4 what most 18 year olds with no experience pay for a 60hp stbox..

Good reason to be a biker imo
