Petrol Station Idiots...
Discussion
I was sat in a long queue at a Tesco garage today as the regular unleaded was off at the front pumps (I don't think I've ever been to a Tesco garage where every pump is on but that's another point).
A woman in a Tigra was getting increasingly irate about the fact that the car in front of her had stopped at the back pump when the one in front was empty. This resulted in her getting out of the car and ranting at the woman when she returned from the kiosk - all whilst standing next to the large sign that said the unleaded was off. After the woman left she pulled up to the front pump and began filling up with premium unleaded whilst loudly whinging about the other woman:
Her: I don't know why she stopped there - what was wrong with this pump? Why did she need to leave a big gap?
Me: Well, the unleaded is off on it.
Her: Yeah but the premium's on - it's all the same stuff...
Me: No it isn't...
Her: Yeah it is, you can put it in any car.
Me: Well yes you can, but it's different stuff and it's more expensive.
Her: Only by a penny - it only makes a difference if you live on a shoestring...

I suppose she'll be back next week whinging that the tenner's worth she put in didn't get her as far as usual.
Cool story bro, etc.

Theoretically, super will give you better mpg.
and more power. but it totally depends on the car. it was either EVO of fifth gear who did a test comparing power outputs with Vpower and normal unleaded, it made f
k all difference with a 2.0 megane. they then tested on a high performance car (can't remember which) and gave another 5-10bhp.would make f
k all difference on my 29 year old carburetted thing though
I had similar, a woman ranted and raved because I'd not gone through to next pump so she could get on the pump behind. I very politely suggested that she make an appointment with spec-savers and pointed out that all the lines on that pump had "Out of order" tags on them, then not very politely, but with a smile on my face, told her to get back in in her car and not be such an obnoxiousness b
h.
h.We get that regularly at two filling stations I use regularly. Woman again ranting because a chap in a S3 Landy refused to pull forward and fill up on the expensive diesel as opposed to the cooking stuff both he and I wanted.
Pointed out that there was space for her to drive round him and use the pump in front, knowing it was all V-power diesel and petrol or LPG.
So she did and when she looked at the price realised that what people had been saying about it being more expensive was right. She cleared off without buying anything.
The other station I've stopped using now is a Statoil. It has only one ethanol pump, front location next to the shop. Problem is selfish sods who fill up, then leave the car there while they go in and get a hot dog, coffee, sticky bun whatever.
Gits.

what gets me is people 'queuing' to make sure the pump is on the correct side.
I've never found a petrol pump that can have the filler on the wrong side of the car, get the nozzle to the filler and not have the pipe draped all over the back of the car on the paintwork - I personally don't want this so I wait for the 'right' side...which is in fact the left

Almost as annoying as the car I was waiting behind (with two cars behind) for what seemed like ages last weekend. They came out with about 5 bags of shopping.....
What's possibly even worse than that is when you can see the person who owns the car at the pump in front of you, stood at the chocolate section."Shall I get a Galaxy... Oh, hang on, there's a Dairy Milk. But then there's the Twix... But I had a Twix last time I came in, so should I go for a Mars bar...? Or maybe I shouldn't bother with chocolate today and get some Fruit Pastilles..."
Decades pass before they finally make their mind up that they don't want anything and come back to the car empty handed.
