Really? What I saw was Plato letting Needell past, then Needell letting Plato past, ad infinitum. Nice video but it's no 'race' as such.

Course its not absolute racing, I doubt the makers PR departments would be very happy about that, but its still nice see.

Guess it just reminds me of Top Gear where Clarkson is keeping up with some F1/Touring/Rally car driver in a similar car and you know it's plain daft. Obviously Needell is a proper driver but compared to Plato he'd be quickly left behind, so it doesn't tell you a whole lot about the comparison between the cars when one slacks off to let the other past.

Regardless of the waving each other through, it's definitely a refreshing change to watch over 2 minutes of a car programme without something 'hilariously' exploding or falling over totally by accident.

Nice video, was amazed to see how much work Tiff was doing at the wheel. Really liked the bit where Tiff went in too deep and had to catch the back end, he's still a very good driver.

Once I win the euro lottery and build my own track that's what I'll be doing all day every day until I run out of money for tyres or I crash and die, whichever happens first

I really don't think the plato would leave Needell behind, for a start he said in the last series that he loved following tiff as it was great to watch him. Don't get me wrong Plato is an awesome driver but at the end of the day he is a touring car driver without having done a lot outside of it. Whereas Needel has competed in Le mans and even raced in 2 grand pries, he is more than a match for Plato.

Quite the opposite, many racing drivers seem to adopt that style to get the most out of high powered 4wd cars. There's a Best Motoring video where the driver sets an 8 minute Nurburgring lap in an Evo IX using a similar technique.
