'Astonish' car care products in the pound shops

I've not got car cleaning OCD like some, but I do like to keep my steeds clean and have tried many different car cleaning products over the years - but non have impressed me as much as the el-cheapo stuff you get in pound shops called 'Astonish'
I've been using their car shampoo for a couple of months, and it's the only shampoo I've used that properly foams up and actually leaves a layer of water repelling wax after the wash - It's brilliant stuff.
Then yesterday I bought their tyre shine and 'anti-fog' glass cleaner. Again, it's very good stuff. The tyre shine left a very nice even satin sheen...the glass cleaner foamed up a little and cleaned perfectly.
I have no affiliation with Astonish products...just wanted to share my experience. It's nice when something cheap outperforms the more expensive stuff.

The power of marketing makes people pay alot of money for deeply average products because they are perceived to be good. Time and time again I read tests on car cleaning products and see the expensive 'detailing' stuff performing poorly in the face of cheaper brands, often much cheaper.
Best glass cleaner in the world? Vinegar mixed with water. Yet people will still pay a tenner for some stuff that smells like hubba bubba and comes in fancy packaging that is no better.
I recall buying my dad some car polish in G&Ts when I was a kid for his birthday. To this day he says it was the best polish he has ever applied and the longest lasting.
Yes some of the cheap stuff is just that, but just like own brand food, some is just as good as the branded stuff.

Just make sure there's no water around when you're using that Anti-Fog Glass Cleaner, because it ends up looking like you've smeared the glass with petrol if it mixes with water!
Otherwise - yeah, I was very impressed. Since it was summer at the time, I tested out the anti-fogness by spraying and cleaning only one of the parts of my kitchen window with the stuff. All the others steamed up like buggery, but that one stayed clear for ages. Impressive
