Broken locking wheelbut key

Am trying to remove a wheel, but the key has broken (see below - or http://www.davhughes.com/images/Misc/key.jpg).

Can I get a replacement key - or is this a drill off jobby?

Car is an Audi TT (MK1).

THere are tools for removing rounded bolts, and once you realise how effective they are, you also realise that the "coded key" kind of locking wheel nuts like those, are a waste of time.

Some joker pinched mine and I went into a state of panic when I needed the tyres changing (not to mentioned a little red faced when I rolled up at the fitters and turned my car inside out trying to find the wheelkey).

Anyway - fear not - your local dealer will be able to order you one based on your car VIN.

I only had to wait about 5 days, and it cost around £25 / £30.

I do hear very poor reviews about that style of bolt though.

If you can get it to the dealer, they use a master to remove the wheels.

It looks like a McGard one.

I had one shear thanks to an over enthusiastic tyre fitter.

Contacted McGard in Germany, emailed them a pic of my broken key with a copy of V5 and licence for ID (and a few Euros) and they sent me a couple of new ones. Do get 2, I ruined another one trying to get the bolts out.

Then throw them all in the bin and use non locking wheelnuts.
