What would you buy for three weeks?

I knew this was coming as she was only ever a temporary mistress but the Preludes gearbox has finally all but given up on me. The synchro's appear to be shot and the only way to get it to change gear is by heel and toeing and praying you don't have to stop ad try to fight the box into first form a standstill. It's not worth repairing for me given I'd have sold in June anyway so she's going on the bay...

Nowhere's the challenge. I have a new car arriving end of June and I'm on a road trip in the US for three weeks in June but it now leaves me short of wheels for the month of May.

I can't do the gearbox work myself as I've already got enough going on in my garage with two 4x4's laid up, which I now have a pressing need to get running although there's every chance I can't get either of them going in time.

So what could I get that's oddball for up to a grand to amuse me for four weeks, I don't really care if it's a V12 barge or a 700cc pocket rocket, just a little different

I need inspiration or I'll just end up doing my usual trick of walking to a dealers and picking up a shed from the trade in pile with T&T.

Ebay , set you search criteria to nearest first and take your pick from 100's of local bargains , it often throws up a few possibilities you won't have considered

I just couldn't handle the SD1 - I have to bee seen in public, and preferably not pushing a heap of iron oxide to the side of the road...trawling the old shed has got me thinking about an E30 BMW though.

Breathing a sigh of disappointment tinged with relief, my insurers won't have any of it.

Which is a bit ridiculous given that it's worth less and isn't much quicker than the Audi, but hey ho. At least it stops me buying the thing.

It's hardly gonna show up in specific searches either, since the ad says 740 rather than 740i.. Anyone reading this has a good chance
