I'm looking at buying a project car for <£500 but thought it would still be a good idea to check it hasn't been accident damaged, stolen etc. When I enter my details into the cheaper text checks they come back that they have been unable to find any record of the vehicle. I then went to the HPI website and entered the reg number and it brought up the correct make and model but obviously at this point it would cost £20 to see anything else. So, is it possible that I could pay £20 to HPI for them to also say they have no record of the vehicle?
The car has not been MOT'd or taxed for about 11 years so would this explain why the other companies are unable to find a record for the vehicle?
