changing car on my policy for last month or so?lose ncb? or?

Thinking of changing my car before my first year of NCB is complete.. But I'm worried about losing the 10/11 months of ncb I have as I'm 22 and this will be my first full year driving and ncb is important when insuring performance cars..

So will I lose my ncb if i switch to another car for the last month or so?

Is it worth taking out a second policy for the last month or so? and creating a new policy in a month?

What do I do?

No, if you remain with the same insurer you will not lose anything.

Change cars on the same policy. You might have to pay a small extra cost (depending on the car) but you'll still you get NCB. With 3 months of my policy left I scrapped my last car it cost me £130 to get the policy moved over to my new one and after the remaining 3months I was awarded my NCB.

As long as you aren\t canceling the policy then it'll still count towards a year of no claims.

Thay aren't car specific. I had 4 cars on my last policy and everything was fine.

its a 306 gti-6 to a vx220 so Will be a small hike..

Also I'm with elephant who will without a doubt also take the oppotunity to charge me admin fees on top too..

When i turned 25, they charged me a £15 admin fee to re-send my docs with 3rd party cover on other cars included.

They use to only charge £30-50 a few years back then it went to 130 then they stopped doing it for youngens
