Is there a cooling off period for car insurance?

I bought a policy two days ago which starts today and I no longer want to proceed...

Just thought I would check with the PH masses in case I need to prepare for a shafting....

14 days from inception, insurer can charge an admin cost for setting up the policy.

Cheers Zollar! Ended up selling/swapping cars yesterday and another insurer is way cheaper on the new car so there's my get out clause!

Well that's what the cooling off period is for if you aren't happy with the policy you can cancel it within a set time, can't see any problems with that?.

You'll get bummed for an admin charge.

I just insured my new motorbike with MCE... they sent the paperwork through and had my details down wrong (said I have an alarm when I dont). I would never have even said the bike had an alarm let alone the funny named one they said I had fitted.

Anyway, it turns out they can't insure me without the alarm so they cancelled the insurance, but want to charge me £30 for their mistake.

It's currently being reviewed by them... They still have my £453 though the gits.

I'm giving them until Monday then I'm speaking to the Financial Ombudsmon, there no way they are keeping my money longer than monday or charging me £30 for their mistake.
