I've had my car up for sale on 4 different websites now for over 2 weeks and have had the sum total of 2 phone calls about it frown

It's the best priced of it's kind on PH, has just been serviced and has a very good history. Seeing as it's a soft top I thought it would have gone quite quickly given the weather of late.

Is anybody else having issues selling a car at the moment or is it just me?!

Depends what it is?
I had an X Reg punto up for sale, FSH, all old MOT's.
I sold it with 11 months MOT on it, 6 months tax & a recent new CAT.
68,000 miles on the clock, 5 door, usual paint scratches & chips but it was immaculate inside.
I'd sold it within 48 hours of it going on the AutoTrader. For £995 to a local chap who turned out to be someone i used to work withs boyfriend.
Depends how desirable & how cheap it's priced.

I've just bought one, no idea if they are selling though. Sorry.

No, I only bought one. I haven't sold my old car yet.

Yes, pretty much!

I can't believe that it's had such a small amount of interest. I guess people look for different things in cars than I do...

Anything sells if the price is right.

If its your red boxster s then the mileage is a bit high for one of those and its red. If it had say 50k on and basalt black with black leather it would sell right away.

It absolutely depends on what you're selling. I've had my RX-8 up since the Winter and it's not sold, and I've had to endure many, many timewasters. It's priced at the bottom end of the market so I'm not quite sure what the issue is apart from the well known rotary 'quirks' I suppose...rolleyes

At the moment I think small, cheap cars are flying off the shelves (driveways?) but no one is buying big, thirsty engined cars.

It is my Boxster, I'm slowly coming to the thinking that I will have to part-ex it, which will hurt no doubt! Red is a polarizing colour, it's one that people either love or hate. Personally I think that it's much better than all the silver, off silver and silver grey ones out there. But that's just me clearly! smile

You just have to be patient. It took me 2 months to sell my 200SX despite it being a good car at a keen price. Then I got 2 calls on the same day and the first to see it bought it.
My MR2 was probably underpriced, within a week I had a queue of 6 people wanting it and once I'd dealt with a total timewasting car trader masquerading as a private buyer it sold within a week at asking price.

If its towards the bottom end of its market, then I'd suggest eBay too. You get so much exposure on there. I've never had any joy with autotrader, although I've always advertised with them and would the next time I sell a car for more than a grand too.

It's on eBay, PH, Autotrader, Gumtree and Car and Classic! It's had 7 watchers on eBay for 2 weeks now, with nobody even asking a question on it...

I would like a soft top. I'll give you £10 for it and you can say its sold. Deal?

I think I must live in spitting distance of you (Twyford?) as this car popped up on my routine lunchtime Autotrader 1 mile radius trawl earlier this week. There is a silver Boxster S which has also been for sale at a nearby trader for a good few months now.

I'm surprised its not shifted given the history you've documented at that particular local specialist. A similar mileage S was up at 911V for just under £7k from memory. I guess it depends how quickly you need to shift it really as it just takes one person to take a fancy and take it off your hands, if you're prepared to wait.

I've just bought a Boxster as it happens. Not an S mind, just a cooking 2.5 model. Silver, black leather, FPSH, only 27k miles, £5,500.

Boxsters are incredible value now. Even the weedy engined versions are fun on a balmy summers evening.

Good luck shifting your car. Would love an 'S'at some stage.

I presume the advert's got all the details on then... MOT and tax dates, V5 checked, all previous services with key work done and mileage intervals, other major work done, driving history, info on condition of alloys and paint and interior, etc., tyre wear, bumph about when and how you drive it, previous owners, recalls done, recommended work and mileage done (e.g. belts), HPI-clear, never damaged (or detailed info and pics if it has), mods or 'stock' plus relevant details, known faults, any bad points with photos, plus at least 8 good quality photos of external and interior, plus photos of documentation and service book, plus all the rest of that good stuff? Well done if so. If not, there's your answer.

Correct! The silver one you are talking about is at Northway, it's up at £8500 whilst I'm exactly £1000 under that.

I'm suprised that 911V had an S up for that sort of money, that would be VERY cheap from a dealer...

Last month I sold 21 cars for £1.2m so I'd say cars are still selling.

Its the 6th of the month and I've just sold my 6th, hoping the trend continues till the 31st hehe
