My best mate’s van. It’s a US spec one with the 3.5 ecoboost (derivative of the one in the F150 raptor and Ford GT)

With uprated turbos it’s at about 450bhp but hasn’t been mapped properly yet, he reckons he might get up to 500 with it.

RWD with a limited slip diff, it is absolutely hilarious and properly quick when empty!

He was running it round on rusty steelies until recently but vanity (and possibly a lack of traction) got the better of him hehe
Borrowed the 'Tranborghini' the weekend before last to move some cars around with our RT6 trailer.

One of the best tow vehicles I've driven; stomps off with buckets of bottom end torque in a way that rivals an AMG G55, can put all its power down, rides great even when empty, felt stable even without loads of noseweight, plenty of room as the bulkhead is a bit further back than a Euro van.

Only two downsides were that, being high-sided, it was a touch lively in high crosswinds when passing trucks on the motorway that weekend (but settled down straight away), and it rapidly got boring sticking 120 quids worth of fuel in it every few hours although I am slightly spoilt these days with my everyday car being an EV. Plus the van has still yet to be properly mapped for the new turbos so should improve

It would make an epic racing camper/tow vehicle.

This is a set of wheels and maybe an inch of extra ride height away from being one hell of a sleeper.

500hp+ of turbocharged 80s petrol Merc straight six under the bonnet.

Yeah, that would float past my radar as "Cool, nice old Merc, probably very slow".
Yep, I would assume a wheezy 100hp four banger or a diesel under the hood.

Indeed, like most of the cars on this thread it would be eye catching for being an interesting car even in stock form, so not a true sleeper.

We need more sleepers based on some dull modern car such as a Prius (I was going to say Tesla, but everyone expects them to be fast in a straight line).

I disagree. No-one assumes an old slow car in nice condition might be a sleeper. They just assume it's an old car in nice condition. The UK has a massive classic car scene so it's not unusual to see tidy old cars on a sunny weekend.

There are loads of old German cars (Merc, VW, BMW) that have been lowered on cross-spoke alloys in the yoof car scene. Most of which are very slow indeed!

Now this is a bit of me! I’ve been in a Supercharged GTI6 powered 205 and they are no joke. This one is 240hp and has a Quaife diff as well. Steelies and tow bar fit the bill perfectly. Just a little older / lesser spotted these days so stands out a little… but regardless, fantastic sleeper!

That is properly perverted. Like having a wine cellar and swimming pool in a council house.

Yes, indeed. A Google translation of the advert from Romanian to English

I am selling a Skoda Octavia with a V12 Ferrari Testarossa 390 HP swap. The modifications were made in Italy and are not homologated, the documents show 1.6 petrol. Engine specifications: 4.9 liters, 490 Nm, 390 CM (287kW) 0-100 About 4.6 seconds Racebox tested depends on tyres. The car comes with many improvements, more details in private. I don't know all of them, that's how I got the car, but I have the list from the previous owner. 196,433 km body, 67,000 approximately engine, taken from an injured Ferrari. The car is owned by a private person. Recently changed, I haven't driven it much, it starts very easy and cold. Test only at authorized service, please without wasting time, I will attach a video from youtube with the swap and with the tests on the circuit. It comes bundled with another Skoda Octavia Rs for parts. In the pictures it has the stock rims because it was designed as a 100% Sleeper, but it also comes with some BBSs on 17. Do not disturb the nonsense. Price easily negotiable.

It's even got the obligatory "still a 1.6 on the V5" note

A sleeper from the outside. The rollcage kind of gives it away once you have got inside though

Possible winner of 'crappest photoshop award 2024', more like. Whoever mocked up that photo doesn't know how mid-engined cars work and has put the engine in back to front! Think about it...

The Testarossa has got a transaxle, which appears appears to be pointing towards the radiator in the Skoda 'conversion'. If it is real then it's either front wheel drive with five reverse gears and one forward speed or, just maybe, the 'Italian converters' have somehow managed to make the engine turn the opposite way to normal.

It does look shopped to me as well.
