The seller is offering vin plates and a log book,

In other words "could be used to change the identity of another Elf or Mini".

Yes, I see your point. Not much help in a restoration really if there is no semblence of the original vehicle.

His other listing he's "aledgedly" selling his Mums Corsa because it's too big for her and she wants a Mini. Wouldn't be poetic justice if his mums Mini gets stolen and they use his vin plates and log book to ring it?

Got the SP&L guys on the case as well now (hopefully). Until the identities are used on a stolen vehicle legally there isn't a lot the Police can do but the DVLA are more then happy to issue £40-£80 fines for log books that are lost in the post let alone kept deliberately so they can be sold on.
