Lister LFT-666 | Spotted

Like the idea of a 675hp Lister, but don't like the old shape F-Type? The classifieds have the answer...

Sometimes, we don't need ostentatious observations or persuasive parlance to sell a story. This is one of those occasions. Because, up for sale on the classifieds this week, is a one-of-a-kind, 5.0-litre, V8 F-Type R, tuned and released from British sports car manufacturer and famed Jaguar tuner, Lister.

The Lister LFT-666 (previously known as Lister Thunder) was originally limited to 99 units, but as this is a new shape F-Type, this one is said to be unique. Apparently it was purchased new by the first and only owner and taken "almost immediately" to Lister. We admire that level of organisation. Not to mention dedication.

You can check out the full list of conversion modifications in the listing, but just to whet your whistle, there's that all-important engine tuning up to 675hp, adjustable suspension upgrades, 22-inch staggered forged alloy wheels plus green-painted brake calipers with the Lister logo.

That's on top of the long list of factory specifications, which include the usual carbon fibre interior elements and ebony and oyster leather performance seats. There's also plenty of green highlights and Lister logos scattered inside and out, just to prove to the world this isn't just your common-or-garden Jaaaag.

It even keeps its Jaguar manufacturer's warranty until November 2023, which is something you rarely get to say when you're buying souped-up mods from the used market. And, from experience, the Lister modifications really are something to behold. You'll even get change from £100k...

Although not completely sold on the updated front end, the side profile on these is utterly gorgeous. Still a really handsome car after all these years.

Now that is depreciation! £40K in a year and 4000 miles!

You could hire every supercar and do 4000 miles, and it wouldn't cost anything like £40K, and you would have been driving a genuine supercar each time, not a pimped up Jaguar, that is itself a pimped up version of the model from 2013, which in turn was a pimped up XK from 2006!

Seems slightly unfair! Whoever bought this is clearly a dyed-in-the-wool petrolhead and therefore made good decisions in my book. It's clearly an actual supercar, from a manufacturer that has good form in the supercar game (see XJ220, XJR-15 etc).

I get the point on the pain of depreciation however.

No way is that a supercar.

Beast of a car! - given the tyre clearance that is barely thicker than a Rizla am sure the average poorly surfaced lumpy, bumpy UK B road will produce some eye watering and wince inducing moments and expensive arch repairs....

I really do like this! My addiction to V8s is just beginning though.

If 675bhp in a Jaguar isn't supercar I'd like to see a definition which excludes it...

Agree. Serious power, I imagine its a handful to drive as well in the true old fashioned supercar way!

The XK150 is a completely new car compared to the previous model ( engine and gearbox carried over but thoroughly updated) F Type is completely different car, its not a pimped up anything.

It's also £9k for a 458 for a month so you'd get 4 1/2 months of the year for your £40k

I’d rather own a badass Lister anyway.

Not sure I agree with the equivalence of hiring vs owning, but he is right about F-type heritage. The X150 was launched in 2006 (the completely different X100 was launched in 1996) & the F-type uses the same architecture & similar powertrain (at least for the V8), but with a shortened wheelbase, ie there is arguably more that is the same than is different.

Exactly.

Why you'd plunk so much money into this only to sell it this quickly (and with so few miles), I'll never know.

Thought the same, 5k for 4 days in an SVJ.

Iooks lovely but not in black, different colour with silver wheels and i think 100k is fair, but 100k buys a proper supercar.

The owner probably realised that they'd specced the truly awful fixed option spoiler and no amount of engine mods could change that.

Seriously, why so many have this awful addition is beyond me. The first Ian Callum saw of this spoiler was when it appeared on a car in the Accessories Brochure. He went mental as it looks so crao and out of style with the car. Apparently it was given to some underling to design and never wind tunnel tested or even presented to Callum. Typical JLR stshow.

That is really nice. The 22s might be a bit much on it but a very cool car.
