Czinger sets up shop in UK, opportunities abound

Makers of the 1,250hp, V8 21C now have a base at MIRA - bring on those UK lap records...

Perhaps more than ever before, the USA feels like another planet. That extends to cars as well: V8s remain common (and cheap as chips), the manual gearbox remains highly relevant, and they get the extravagantly silly SUVs. Plus there’s the small matter of the Czinger 21C, the record-breaking 11,000rpm hypercar that’s making many of the established players look up and take notice.

So far, the Californian-built 21C doesn’t seem to have gone much further than Laguna Seca, but that’s all set to change with the founding of a UK base for Czinger. They’re going to be part of the MIRA Tech Park in the Midlands, a well-known automotive hub that will place Czinger right at the heart of all things automotive over here. As well as testing facilities, it will open up access to a whole host of companies that Czinger might be able to benefit from. Or the other way around, in fact, given the 21C’s clever construction and hybrid powertrain.

Either way, a Czinger presence of some kind in the UK must mean an increased likelihood of the actual cars being here, and that has to be good news. With so much so familiar in the market, a genuinely different kind of hypercar feels exciting. Especially after the impression it left at Festival of Speed a couple of years ago.

Lukas Czinger, founder and CEO, said: “Czinger is a global brand with a vision that transcends borders, and we’re incredibly proud to have established our UK base of operations at MIRA Tech Park. This world- class facility provides us with the advanced infrastructure and collaborative ecosystem we need to push the boundaries of automotive innovation. Our presence here reinforces our commitment to building cutting-edge hypercars while contributing to the UK’s position as a leader in advanced manufacturing and automotive technology.”

I'm sure the engineers is great, and that a few Billionaire are excited to own one.

But, not sure if it's my age, but I just don't get excited by all of these new Hypercars anymore. Every other month, it's another 1000bhp+ car being offered to the public. Just bores me.

At the time, F40? Yes. F1? Yes. Veyron? Yes.

They consult to some other companies in the area apparently, so this would seem a logical next step.

Doug Demuro did a fantastic video looking at all the tech that's underneath this, I didn't really appreciate the engineering or tbh the level of fit and finish it appears to have.

Well worth a look:

He sounds like an extra from Sesame Street; ultimately unbearable.
