A soft bits of sevens hood is a must. The original one is so crap. eBay it.
I bought one of these as they were a bit cheaper than the SoftBits alternative, but just as effective.Sadly, Katie is "resting" at the moment. She failed to start just before Xmas and has been sitting round the back (covered up) ever since. What with Xmas, the New Year and "tramping" with work (staying away from home and sleeping in the lorry) I haven't had the chance to see what's up.
Hopefully, I'll be able to give her the once-over this weekend, as I do miss the old girl.
Apart from getting her started and an overdue oil/filter change, there's not much that needs to be done. I too promised myself I would get underneath and get busy with the Waxoyl before Winter arrived, but never got round to it. Still, the chassis looked in good nick the last time I checked and, as you said, we've been pretty lucky weather-wise this year.

I also have starting issues, well, idling issues. Sometimes it'll start and idle fine, other times it'll die with no revs. I don't really know where to start looking to be honest!Sadly, Katie is "resting" at the moment. Good luck getting her well again!

I swapped to a tonneau cover by Lesley Storr Designs. She tweaked her light weight tonneau for me into one that I can keep on the passenger side only while touring. Top lass.
Agreed, Lesley is excellent.Hi CW7 , Any updates ?.
I got sent your thread link from a question I posted on another forum about using a 7 as a daily car, love the thread so far, and have picked up a fair few tips. Just located some clamshell wings to replace the cycle ones I have at the moment, as driving in mud and stuff makes a right mess of the car and myself. I was shocked to read the page where you had fitted the brooklands, just spent the last few months getting a full screen and doors sorted out had full aero before, hood still to make as yet, but getting there. I need to get some decent tyres next, cant see the A048's being much good in snow !!.
The idea of using a 7 everyday has been on my mind for years now, having two cars is really no longer viable due to costs for me, and having read the thread in full, my life style is almost identical to yours. I know some folks both here and on the other forum have pooh poohed the idea, but I really thought this was possible and you seem to be proving me correct.
Looking forward to your next installment.
Cheers.
Rich.

I have been using my locost every day for the last 9 mouths it had a bike engine and aero screen. As long as you have the clothes then there is no reason why you cant do it and it's allot of fun. Also a pipe is an escentual peace of out door clothing ;-).
