yes it won and is yet another Porsche winning this along side the last one which was a Cayman R.

What was interesting that they still don't like the steering and said the Aston was better !!!

To be clear the Aston's hydraulic steering was better...nonetheless, the GT3 vanquished (...sorry) the Aston on all other categories...not the least of which was the lap time delta (6s around Snetterton)...

All that said ...get the sense that the Autocar crew were less smitten with this GT3..than her predecessors...but am probably splitting superlatives here...

Not surprising. Meaden who is one of the real purists was pretty lukewarm about it. Still good enough to win though and it means the RS will be well worth waiting for.

Cayman a very poor 6th this time.

Interestingly CAR noted that the mp4's sterring is now better than the GT3's.

Interesting that the cayman is being viewed as a 'very poor 6th', when the article says anything, but poor.

^Indeed. IIRC 2nd-7th/8th were all very close on points, and all of them a long, long way off the GT3 in 1st.

New Cayman's not a drivers car though now imo and has even worse steering.

GT3 has sold out to tech and lap times.
Pass GT3 were never about out right speed.

This is particularly relevant when you think about it <no smiley>. They have effectively awarded the title to a pre-production prototype before any production examples have been delivered to owners. Is there a COTY precedent for that ever happening before? Objectively : should it even be eligible for the contest?

Same thing happened last year (V6 Exige) at least they kept it real by awarding joint 1st to the Pagani.

Rehash of an old barge springs to mind....IMHO of course. Hopefully the New 'baby' Lambo will be up in next years list..
