Dropped the car in with my local OPC on 2nd September, since then I've called twice, popped in yet by today still no news from them on its return. Apparently they are awaiting spares from the Fatherland. But not one call from them updating me...is this a record? Not really complaining 'cause it's keeping the mileage down.

They had mine for a week - for a standard service. I can only assume they assume most are second cars and not required.

Did make me chuckle! It was only when I phoned to chase that they begrudgingly told me to come pick it up.

Replacement motor for the Targa top, guess they don't have 1996 spares left and are waiting for the supplier to make some? Pity, weather is perfect for roof-off motoring. Just waiting for a call when it's ready. Might pop down again next week for a coffee to see how they are getting along, but so far it's three months without any contact from their end.

Parts are becoming a bit of a nightmare for the 993. I've been waiting since June for a minor plastic part. They quoted week 46 as when they would get new supplies but it's now overdue & Germany aren't replying to Reading's emails...

Visited OPC yesterday, parts arrived and fitted. Just needs a wash and polish and then it's released. Been kept undercover too, which based on recent rains is surely a good thing? Have to wait and see what the hit on the wallet is going to be then some roof-open driving before the weather heats up.

I always look for excuses to extend my motor's visit with an OPC; they have some mighty fine metal for me to 'test' whilst it's in...:smoking:

Back in 2006 they kept my 8 month old Boxster for 2 weeks because they couldn't get hold of any brake pads.

They leant me a brand new 997 C2S which I proceeded to take from 700 miles to 2,500..... it was fun and very cheap 911 ownership.

Well finally collected my car last Saturday 25th Jan, just over 20 weeks with OPC. Roof and sun shade now work fine. Parts charges par for the course I guess but labour charges would really surprise you back in Old Blighty (around £200). Pity the odometer has just given up the ghost, second one to go in the life of the car, and strangely both quit at around 48,000 kms. Built in obselecence?
