car struggles to turn over, then when does, alarm goes off..
Discussion
Morning.
So, over the last couple of months I've noticed that my car (996 C4S) is starting to struggle to turn over. I only use it at weekends and often for short journeys. I noticed that the fob sometimes doesnt allow me to unlock the car and I have to use the key in the door (how old fashioned). Once in the car I used to be able to start the car, although a but sluggish on turnover.
I had assumed it was too many short journeys but it is now getting worse. I took the car out on Friday for a longish (30 minute) blast - hoping to rejuice the battery on the run. Just tried going out today. Fob unlocked car which I thought was a good sign. But then I turned it on and it only just turned over. Then, the alarm goes bats
t crazy. Couldnt turn it off. Every key fob press resulted in a honk of the horn.
When car is running, the voltage is showing just under 14.
The only thing I can think of is a new battery needed. However, I'm now in a position where I probably wont be able to start the car without jump leads and worry that I'll be driving around with the Alarm blaring.
Any thoughts on my options?

Jump start it and it'll be fine from an alarm perspective, it's going off because it's detecting the voltage drop as you try to fire the starter.
Get a new battery and conditioner (were on offer at Aldi for £9.99 recently - probably sold out now but I find theirs better than a Ctek/Porsche one because they have an LCD voltage display) and everything will be fine. Leave the key at position 1 whilst you swap the battery over (so the alarm doesn't go off!).

Thanks guys. Looks like a new battery is on the cards. It is going in for it's major service in a couple of weeks so may as well get it done at the same time.
However, there seems to be enough juice to get the car started. But I'm not keen to use it if the alarm will be going off while I'm driving. Any trick to turn the alarm off once the car is started?
