Nearly £100k...or put another way £20k more than a 3.8 Gen 2?

Is it just the colour that's commanding the premium? confused

Yep rare colour hence the price. I think its more like £85k as no ceramics, Nice low mileage though.

Lovely, lovely car and possibly the most sought after colour. For my money, though, I'd have a Gen 2 and spend the rest on doing european trackdays in it.

I have to agree the colour is fantastic.

If it belongs to who I think it does, it's an absolute peach of a car and owned by a very well informed individual. He's already turned down some fairly heft offers for the car.
Would concur with Gen 2 RS ownership over this, but there aren't many Gen 2's about in green . . . . This will just go up and up in value. Speak to Santa nicely or just buy it Steve ! ! biggrin

And I thought I paid a lot for mine!

Not sure it's worth quite that much but it will be a classic in years to come, and it wouldn't surprise me if it sold quite quickly. I think this is only the second green one to come up for sale for at least a year?

I'd be surprised if it makes anywhere near this. A gen 2 or gen 2 RS with 2 year warranty from OPC difficult to ignore at this money if you plan to use the car.

Then there are the technical superiorities. http://fastestlaps.com/comparisons/porsche_997_gt3...

Chancing it a bit, but all it takes is one person who simply must have a green one.

It's Big Game Hunter or something on here isn't it, although I've heard the cars and garage are his dads?

Surely technical superiorities are irrelevant? 993rs and 964rs' are technically inferior to any 997rs but it doesn't stop them commanding higher prices.

Yes suppose so in some ways but I'd still struggle as they're virtually the same car albeit the gen 2 is better! 993 and 964 aren't a fair comparison as they're different (air-cooled so to many people last of the real 911s) and rarer 911s.

Don't get wrong I'd buy the green 997 in a heart beat if I wanted one of these but would struggle to pay £4k more than the gen 2 RS for sale at Solihull. £85k is the green cars money IMO. Markets gone mad and I feel a few people and dealers are trying it on with over inflated prices at the mo which of course they have every right to but whats the point if the car does not sell? By way of example there was a low miles 996 GT2 up for £85k recently too. I'd be surprised if the green car makes more than mid 80s. the 996 GT2 was taken off the market after a few weeks.

I agree with most of that. But they come up so rarely that it wouldn't surprise me if it sold well into the 90s.

How much for the less desirable orange one behind it? smile

It's good but it's not right.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good rumour so carry on.

Not my car I'm afraid

Ah fair enough. I must be getting my wires crossed.

So there are two people in County Durham with both a green and an orange RS. What are the chances eh? wink

Are your cars and garage yours or your dads then? Don't understand what part is a rumour?

Merry Xmas anyway.

We'll given that I'm mad and it's my dream car I offered 97.5 for it. Doesn't make sense at that price I know but what can I say, I love Viper Green. I can only hope the seller comes to his senses.

PistolP OPC Reading quoted me £7k to paint a 993TT 'S' front to back in any colour I wanted and change all the records at the factory etc etc. End to end solution..
Pick your car and give to them for 2 months - Viper Green is no problem.

Also - if you're building an "ultimate 911 collection" - buy this (I know I would):

I wanted green but settled for orange, that's a decent winter project that adds value!

and then, when all the owners of Orange, Black, Silver & White cars have painted them Green for 7k (Porsche Green not Viper I believe) what will a Green one be worth then...
