996tt standard wheel size
Discussion
Morning all, I am hoping to have my wheels refurbed this coming year and as I will have to send them off I thought about buying a second hand set. Will all the various adverts for turbo wheels each having different tyre sizes offset etc I would like to know the easiest way to find the correct standard size for my wheels.
I have looked on t'internet and there is also a mix of information - its a 2000 996tt and has 225/40/ZR18 P Zeros front and 295/30 ZR18 michelin pilots on the rear.
What would the wheels be and how can I identify the good ones? If there is a porsche part number on the wheel? what would it be?
I know I know, if I jack up the car and remove the wheel...... it's cold and some wheels have come up for sale locally...
Thanks in advance

Better to go by part numbers! Original wheels were only available as 8" ET50 and 11" ET45 and have hollow spokes. The 'Turbo look' wheels dont have hollow spokes and are available in 8", 8.5", 10", 11" & 12"...
8": 996.362.136.04
11": 996.362.142.03/11/32
Solid spoked wheels: 996.362.136.01/31 / 996.362.140.02/04 / 996.362.142.01/31
8": 996.362.136.04
11": 996.362.142.03/11/32
Solid spoked wheels: 996.362.136.01/31 / 996.362.140.02/04 / 996.362.142.01/31
Only the offset and width are 'embossed' in the rim each side of the valve.
To answer the OP's question, the part numbers are stamped on the back face of one of the spokes.
Here is your bible.

Of course we (the voices on the internet) don't know if you have OE hollowspoke wheels or not?
If you want a spare set, anything with similar/same widths and offsets will do. When I say similar, offsets within 5mm should be OK, but not guaranteed. You may get away with offset +/-10mm. Or not.
I'd stick to OE, and hollowspokes if you can.
Does your door-plate (which specifies wheel/tyre sizes for your car) state you can fit 10J rears with winter tyres?
(PS as a return favour
can you recommend anywhere to overnight between Dole and Bourg-en-Bresse?)
