1 year anniversary, think she may be a keeper
Discussion
....or at least a long term 5+ year car! Just coming up to the 1 year anniversary of buying my 993 Cab and it occurred to me the other day that barring a major disaster, I can't see a reason why I would sell her. She....
1) was a bargain to buy and is in fantastic condition for a 20 year old machine
2) is pretty much holding in value, if not actually appreciating slightly (irrelevant if I don't sell, I know, but don't under estimate the warm fuzzy feeling I get from the knowledge alone!)
3) is plenty quick enough for the road
4) is a hoot on the couple of track days I take her on every year
5) is actually quite practical - you should have seen how much we took to France over Christmas
6) isn't worth so much that I think "that's an awful lot of cash to have in one toy"
7) isn't so low mileage and shiny that I'm afraid to use her/leave her parked on the road
8) is a totally viable everyday car, yet special enough that you never get bored
Basically, she's caught me a little by surprise as 1 year ago I was buying just to scratch the itch for a bit, see what people were raving on about and then maybe move on. As it stands I'm 90% sure I'll change the Ferrari before the 993
As an aside, 993s are obviously a little harder to live with than say a modern car which I actually enjoy. If I was a bit more 'creature comfort' and 'ease' orientated it'd be a 996 (again) no doubt, can't believe how good value they are now.
Anyway, just thought I'd share as I'm in a pensive mood

Pleased to hear you're enjoying it.
Nice position to be in, to run a 993 as a daily. Just clicked on your profile, cool garage. My mate had a 550 and a 575. Great cars. Bit too grown up for me, I prefer the V8 Ferraris, but still great cars.
Your Mini sounds cool. Great to keep that in the family I bet.
