Looking at some cars now and much prefer the look with painted front lip, side sills and (I think) rear lip.

Can this be retrospectively done by painting the I painted trims?

Anyone done it who can recommend a bodyshop in London / SW ?

Can be done, but prone to stone rash as the miles creep up.

I am sure - is that what they do straight from the factory?

mine were painted direct from the factory. I think the car looks better with them painted. Easy enough to remove them for a blow over when they get stone chipped.

good to know thanks RAWENG - I agree it looks better on lighter/brighter cars, less important on dark grey/black

What I was wondering is whether the part that is painted from the factory is the same finish as painted part or is it smoother / better prepared to take the paint.

If exactly the same I would be confident adding paint to unpainted sills would be the same as if it had been done from the factory
