I was recently washing my 996 C4S and because she's getting on a few years now, I hadn't noticed the S badge on the boot had lifted slightly, and before I knew it, I'd snapped the end off...

I've procured a replacement through Porsche but I was just looking for advice on what adhesive I should use to apply the new badge.

All help welcomed. Thanks.

I would use automotive double sided tape, fiddly but good.

Yes, it does but the residue left behind on the existing badge looks like a glue?

It's just double sided adhesive tape from the factory badge, over time as grime and heat take their toll it can make it look a bit like glue if it hardens. Just soak it in tar and glue remover for 10 mins and it will peel clean off, either that or a hair drier/heat gun smile

Thanks all. I'll tackle it this week. Just hoping the paint doesn't come off on removal of the old badge.. Cheers.

Get some fishing leader or use a couple of strands of garden twine, something with a small diameter and take the badge off ala cheese cutter stylee, some white spirits will remove the glue or tar remover, give the area a wash off and then wax it.
Peel of backing on new badge and fit.
Take some measurements of the old badges position before removal so you get it on in the right place.
