Morning all, sorry if this is a stupid question but I am curious.....

Does the handbrake on the 997 GT3 use the existing calpiers and discs or is it a seperate system?

I had heard (cant remember where from) that Porsche designed the GT3 with a seperate system that does not use the existing calipers and discs.

It was done this way so that when you are on a track day, you can use the handbrake in the pits between laps without the hot pads sticking to the hot discs.

Can anyone let me know if this is true please?

Cheers, Kul

996/7 GT3 handbrake is a drum & shoes system within the rear disc bell operated by cables.
