Come back from holiday, take my bike out the back of the car and realised I've probably written the car off !
Is there an easy fix for bringing out the indent in the vinyl panel?

I believe a wet towel and an iron can work well on that sort of dent, never tried it myself though.

This is probably similar....depending upon model year.

Doesn't really look that bad but why put a bike inside a 911?

Because the OP owns a 911 but wanted to transport his bike from A to B I'd guess (although a little more care was required)!

Is the panel, the same as cooking 997's or bespoke?

Oh yes, that'll be it!

Amazed one could get a full sized bike into the back of a GT3; but then I've never tried. Obviously doesn't have the CS seats?

What, a GT3 with no cage or bucket seats? Can't see it's worth repairing really, car's probably a write-off with that damage.

silly

If the OP's profile is up to date it's a 996. I'd say it's the same panel for all narrow body 996's - but that's a guess.

I'd try a hairdryer on it - you must have a few to chose from if you own a GT3 with out a cage hehe

And as Goose says, apply a little moisture with a damp cloth as you are warming it up. If that doesn't work off to the experts I would think.

Good luck.

Wanted to take my race bike on holiday with me. I usally rack it on the roof, but as I was travelling 3800 miles in 6 days I didn't want the mpg to be even worse than the 23mpg on average I was getting. Plus my SeaSucker has recommended top speed of 85 mph. Yes I've got leather fixed Recaros. The bike had the wheel off, and bike was in a bike bag. Bike was ok on way down to Spain, but I must stored it slightly different on way home. I know the car is now worthless wink
