Plenty of factors influence the price...
Some are not UK cars, some have damage, others have been repainted and there is a lot of variation with the mileage.
Completely understand all the factors you mention but I don't see how it can have such a significant impact. It is unlikely that the owner of such a vehicle is going to scrimp on maintenance or repair options when required. A complete respray and overhaul for instance isn't anywhere close to £200,000. Some are not UK cars, some have damage, others have been repainted and there is a lot of variation with the mileage.
Whenever I was daydreaming on PH classifieds they seemed to be 300-350, though surely a car that might appreciate in current climate?
The 250 looks good value if it's straight, and looks lovely in black
I assumed the 475 one was a joke or misprint, says it is now sold though who knows if it did and for what

The black car for 250 has been in a very big accident and has a questionable service history. I know this matter of factly from a very good source who had the option of putting it up on sale or return. The white car at VVS has had a colour change (I think) hence the price. It's also been for sale for quite some time. I don't think the car at £475K was every for sale (that's just my opinion though), I think the owner was trying it on like the guy who has the viper green 997 RS up for sale at £175K.
Good cars irrespective of if they are official UK cars (of which there are 49)or EU cars tend to sell for between £325K and £370K depending on what needs to be done to them (4 year service / tyres/ clutch wear). The good ones that don't have a story sell very quickly and they have recently risen in price. When I spoke to Russ at JZ Machtech recently he said lots of people were off loading their RS's though him on SOR to trade up to CGT's as they felt the market was moving. The speed at which good cars sell would support this view.

Good cgt can still be had for 300£,avoid the black one,ex usa, damaged in usa and no history on repairs and service etc
Cgt are also susceptible to the right colour combos.
How does this sort of sCgt are also susceptible to the right colour combos.

Repaint or colour change does not reduce value if done properly. I would imagine a significant proportion of CGTs are not in their original colour.
We are both guessing but I would guess less than 5% have been repainted, most are silver but look great in that colour. If you want a red, black or yellow one you wait until one comes up, maybe in Europe, not sure that matters much as all are LHD.That white one looks awful though IMHO, has it been sale for ages or moved on multiple times? I think I have seen it for sale whenever I have looked on PH

How does this sort of s
t happen to a £300,000 asset? No invoices or service history! I expect at least some on a £3K private sale never mind a CGT.
Car collectors. It's not unheard of for CGT's to be placed in to collections, not driven and not serviced for 5 or so years. Unlike Ferrari's Porsches aren't so sensitive to not being serviced every year. As long as it gets a check over by OPC and gets given it's 4 year service etc. it's not something that would worry me. I'd personally rather have a low mileage car that has been sat in a heated dehumidified garage for the last few years and that has been fully recomissioned at an opc with a clean bill of health than a higher mileage car that has been serviced every year.
Hi pistolp - one option would be to buy a silver one and then wrap it black. I've owned a silver one for many years (less than 2000 miles on the clock since new) and recently decided I wanted it to be black to match a P1 I have coming.
The OPC in NZ that services it arranged for a wrap at a cost of about 2.5k pounds. Car looks great in black, and when I'm sick of black we can simply remove the wrap and it's the original silver again with perfect paint and no stone chips because the wrap protects its.
A wrap may be a good option to go if you want black.

If anyone knows of a good black car I would be keen to enter into a sensible discussion along the lines mentioned
Talk to Porsche Reading. The guys there have recommended more than a few cars that have changed hands privately. The friend whose car i have been lucky to drive bought his car that way. Plus as yellow491 said in the other thread, you will need Reading to arrange an inspection. Some cars i believe have developed the odd leak (dampers/rads/rear seal) from lack of usage that you would certainly want sorted first.Edited by isaldiri on Saturday 16th August 22:01
