Clear indicator lens swap...done
Discussion
Having had one from indicator damaged on my summer road trip, I decided to swap to clear lenses from amber inc the repeaters. Must say I'm very pleased with the result, smartens up the front of the car and adds a touch more modernity. New parts cost from eBay including all the bulbs (you re-use the bulb holders which is fine) totalled about £55 inc delivery (not original Porsche parts but then that didn't bother me), so pretty good value for money I think
Took me about 20 mins to do, all very simple, just used a cross head screwdriver to remove front indicators and the repeaters come off by sliding them towards the rear of the car and popping them off. I also needed a small flat head to remove rubber seal on old and new repeaters (will explain at end).

Ref the rubber seals on the repeaters, the was a slight issue whereby the rubber in the new ones looked like it was not thick enough and would not actually seal to keep water out as it did not fully fill the groove it was in on the lens. The seals on the old lenses still seemed in good condition and were thicker, so I swapped them over and it was much better.
In theory I want to switch the rear lights to red/red rather than red/amber, but I actually think they look okay with the older design (just enough of a nod to retro but not too much), it seems to affect the back less than the front IMO. Also, while the front indicators are cheap, rears com in at about £190 each, not sure it's worth it but we'll see.
God do I love this car
Also had a play with the roof last weekend as it was playing silly buggers and the mechanism to lock it onto the windscreen frame wasn't working properly (one motor kept on jamming). Having loosened off the big roof frame bolts where the rear seats are so you can manually pull the roof up and down, i managed to cycle the roof motors fully back (with roof not moving), then lower the roof manually and tighten it all up again. Roof operation now seems far more controlled with less of the <slam> as it drops onto the screen. There also appears to be less tension in the system so the locking motor appears to have stopped jamming (famous last words!). Happy days
