Collected my F430 from Foskers yesterday and am like a dog with two willies.smile
Like many, a Ferrari was by bedroom wall car, although my era was a 308GTS.!...Did also have a 911 turbo poster and am now lucky to have had both.
So here we are some time later and I own one and although only 2 days into ownership I am over the moon.
Now the joy of selling the 996 Turbo, which has been such a great car. I hope the F430 is as reliable

Congratulations, seeing as its red, I guessing your first Ferrari? I had a 360, loved it. Moved to it after my 996tt. Spent most of the time driving through tunnels with the windows down. The Ferrari has an incredible sense of occasion every-time you start it, and feels great at 30 MPH. Where as the Turbo needed to go much faster to provide a similar sense of excitement.
After a few track days and Nurburgring weekends with the Ferrari, it needed suspension maintenance. The 430 has improved over the 360 but be careful with ball joints used for connecting wishbones to hubs. They wear out really quickly if the car is driven hard. They are manufactured from mild steel which is then chrome plated. Either grit enters the assembly or chrome wears off and the joint rusts, in both cases you start to hear a knocking sound and it just continues to deteriorate.
Ferrari have stopped supplying the ball joints and I believe only sell you an entire arm, which is very expensive. Two friends with 430s (430 and 430 Scuderia) have had theirs replaced multiple times after a few 1000 miles. If you did not go down the Ferrari warranty route you may want to consider an non-OEM upgrade for longevity.
Whoops. Did not mean to be negative, just a heads up on gremlin. I do love the 430 and will grab myself one as well at some point. Been on some epic road trips with our friends cars and I love the look, noise and general excitement it causes when you stop in a town.

Happy motoring!
