I noticed my leftside connector has a pin missing and I think could be causing an issue with led dectane lights, how easy is it to replace this and where to source?

What is the issue ? Have you got the dectanes? Do they work / not work)

Hi cook, yes I have new dectanes.

Upon left turn indication only -
·From the inside, the error code appears and the blinking/noise begins to flash in quick succession (much faster than normal). It can randomly go back to normal for 1 to 2 'ticks'
·From the outside - the indicator appears to be working correctly - lights work and flash correctly.

This DOES NOT occur on the right turn indicator at all.

FYI I had a similar issue on my 996 turbo where the passenger side indicators sometimes flashed quicker which I indicated left.

It turned out the front headlight connection was loose, due to the restraining bar not being locked fully.

It sounds like your car definitely has a loose connection issue.

Not sure if there is a similar type of locking mechanism for the rear lights on a 997.

one tip for dectanes. Make sure you run your engine for a while before testing the lights for the first time. A slightly low battery voltage threw a bulb blown signal on my car and caused me to doubt the lights. After a lot of fiddling, I started the engine then tried the lights and from that moment they worked perfectly for 3.5 years before i finally removed them when I sold the car.

Good luck!

That plug looks very like a VAG item ie VW/Audi plug they are available from VAG so I would think Porsche might sell them as well if that's what you need.

This is interesting as I did all my testing with the ignition on only. I turned the engine on this morning and the error warning was displayed which I cancelled but the indication operation was NORMAL throughout the journey, no problems. I wonder if it was low voltage and whether it will display an error everytime ?

I would be very surprised if your plug was the issue. The part number of the plug is stamped on it.

Once the warning sign disappeared it never reappeared with my car. My car was normally on a battery conditioner when not used for long periods to battery was always tip top.

Isn't the 'missing' pin just the foglight connection?
