Just found out my GT2 was used in a Sunday Times spread

Just got the previous owners history from DVLA on the GT2...

Dangers of tracing a cars history.....but it could be either good or bad I guess and have mixed feelings as it was the first GT2 in the P1 fleet between 2003-2004 - the P1 members took the mileage from 1,000 to 20,000 before P1 sold it on after about a year.

But that was over 10 years ago and its in fine shape today and all original panels....so I should be grateful that Damon himself drove it and wrote that piece for the paper :-)

I wouldn't worry about the P1 link. It's not as if it was used on a trackday and thrashed by spotty oiks who's girlfriends bought them 5 laps in a Porker for £150.

I think P1 was/is quite a well established supercar club and was quite costly to join. You' presume the members treated all the cars with respect.

Nice write up, I've a lot of time for DH, a thoroughly decent bloke, great champion & superb driver. It's a travesty that had circumstances of been different he could have been 3 times world champion.....

As to your car, I wouldn't worry too much about it's early history after so long. It'll have been well looked after & who's to say a one owner example won't have been ragged from cold by one poor driver?!

That's a cool find. I really can't imagine that now your GT2 is 12 years old it would dissuade a future purchaser - probably the opposite.

According to another thread that's running hot, your biggest problem is that is has a turbocharged engine.

That probably why P1 sold it on.

Damon seems to have quite enjoyed it. For me, the GT2 is without question the best car I've ever owned.
