Random question of the day: does anyone know (from experience) if a 17" spacesaver wheel from a 986/996 series car will fit a 997 Carrera S? I know the stud pattern will be the same, I need to know whether the wheel will clear the brake assembly. I'm thinking about the narrow 'inflated' type spacesaver that is often found upright in the front boot of a 986, rather than the 'deflated' type spacesaver that the 996 turbo's came with. Any sensible info appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry I think you'll not clear the calipers with 17's
Unless you know differently. Could you borrow an 18 or 19 version?

I've sure I've seen a thread where an American fitted one to his C4S.

Can't comment about the thin bicycle type wheel but I have a 17" collapsible type and it does clear the 6pot callipers with 350mm discs - believe it was originally for 996 Turbo S cars with PCCB.

Collapsible or not, it's still a 17" wheel. Thanks for that information.

I have one by the side of my desk here. I am happy to measure it for you if that will help?
