Evening

After a lot of soul searching I decided today to swap my 996.2 GT3 for a 997.1 GT3 Clubsport. My biggest worry was that I would miss the 6 and find it hard to replace, but then thought life is short, all about experiences and as an enthusiast of the marque I should own a 7 GT3 at some point. Plus the one I have bought looks epic - see below - which helps! Slowly ticking the variants off in chronological order as have done both generations of 6 GT3 now. Just 7.2 and the RS versions to go...

As per other thread I'll be running this car on OEM actives for a while to understand how they work on road and track and then will switch to passive shocks at some point next year.

Short test drive revealed a much more composed road car with more low down grunt. A better picture will be revealed at Silly GP on 23rd Nov!

Cheers

Fair play to you. The car looks lovely. Funnily enough I was having exactly the same thoughts today with my mk1GT3, clubsport spec. I noticed the JZM car and thought that looked lovely, almost identical to your one in the pics. Bet you will find the 997 so much easier to drive fast on our harsh roads, hope you don't miss the 6 but as you say nice to try everything. I would have liked the orange RS997 from an earlier post recently.

Enjoy the new car, did you trade in the 996. Thought would sell fast privately?

Thanks dude, I thought about 997.1 RS but TBH they are getting to the level where I'd think twice about using it as intended. Traded the 6.2. Had a lot of mods so thought best plan was to sell through the Indy that did all the work on it, plus they are good mates go always do me a very good deal!

MK 1 GT3 CS is a very special thing, but we can't help chopping our cars around. Whatever you decide you'll have a great machine!

Yep - can't quite believe it yet! Summer Spa trip is a definite dude, plus DN at the Ring if you want to bring the caged beast?!

Can't do Brands next, but back at Silly GP on 23rd Nov. Have fun.

Ha ha! With your collection I must have a foot in one of your camps. Funds allowing I'd like to add a 6 Cup to the stable next year so well may be back in fold.

See you on the 23rd and you know pax laps not a problem. Will obviously be slower than you now though smile

Jackal - part of me is saying the same thing! However looking forward to trying something new and having the experience to compare and contrast a few GT3 iterations. I can always go back should I find the lure of the dark side not strong enough!!

Keeping your beaut now then?

You do realise that speed on track is inversely proportional to cost of chariot.
Hence I am fastest in the 6gt3 biggrin

Great move.
I sold a 6RS to get back in one and not missing never driving a museum piece as you say life too short.

My 7GT3 is more fun to drive 90% of the time and IMO far better to look at oh and makes a far better noise
