Which sports silencers for a 996 C4S
Discussion
The seams on the silencers of my 2002 996 Carrera 4S are corroded and starting to crack so it's time to swap them out.
It currently has a standard exhaust setup and I'd like a bit more noise, nothing too loud as it's my daily driver but I do find it awfully quiet as standard.
I looked into getting a PSE retro fitted but at over £4k that's really not an option so I was thinking something more like this at Design911

Anyone got either of these fitted to their cars and if so what do you think of them?
Any other reasonably priced options?

Speak to Gert http://www.carnewal.com/Exhaust
Plenty from here have used him and have been very pleased with his work.

As above.
My C4S had standard silencers so I headed over to Belgium to see Gert and had his fitted (turned out my silencers were rusted through so had to pay a bit more as I couldnt do the exchange deal). It took a few hundred miles for them to "bed in", but it now has a great rorty deep sound. Much more befitting of the car and not too intrusive and definitely not boomy. The other benefit is that from the outside they look standard fit too.

Looking at the website it seems the Sports is an aftermarket replacement exhaust and the GT is the modification that he does on OEM silencers (removing a lot of the internal baffling and other magic I think). Hence the price difference as for the GT he either modifies your existing silencers or exchange/buy some pre modified second hand ones.
OP,if you are interested in the modified Carnewal cans, you could possibly keep your eyes open for a 2nd hand set on fleabay & get them shipped to Gert for conversion to save having to be without the boxes as he doesn't seem to stock exchange pairs anymore...several of my friends have his modified system & are pleased with the noise - it almost sounds air cooled like though quite at tick over & increasing in tone as the revs rise.
