Hi all,

Just read that the 997.1 C4S boot is smaller than the C2S. Is this true?
Does a pram fit in the boot of either/both?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, less deep due to 4wd so front differential gibbuns up front.

I know through experience of cancelling a purchase of a 996tt when ex announced pregnancy, there was one buggy that fit but not the bugaboo she wanted. Deposit returned, RS4 bought instead

There have been threads on this topic in the past so try searching

Even for a C2S it sounds like a challenge, simply given the length of any pram. But please let us know how you get on - obviously keen to hear if you solve the puzzle. smile

Thanks guys.

I've seen that link before but it's american so wasn't sure if dimensions were same and it also doesn't mention which model 997 either so not massively helpful.

I'm sure it will fit in a C2S but unsure about the C4S and 996T

The Quiny Zapp fits in my 996 turbo's front boot, and fitted in a 997.1 GT3 before it - same boot as a 997.1 C4. Note that it's only the plain Zapp that fits; the Zapp Xtra won't fit without removing the seat and jamming it somewhere in the cabin.

I've had a pushchair for my 997.1 C2S. It fit fine in the front boot. Looked a bit flimsy, but daughter was/is still very happy sat in it, so it must do it's job fine and dandy.

It's not a baby pram, one for toddlers. Can't remember the name but PM me of you need it and I'll check in the garage.

Thanks very much everyone. Very interesting to know that the Quinny fits in the 996T and C4S.

We've not actually got kids but they will be coming in the nearish future and don't want to have to sell whatever car I end up getting.

Cheers

You're approaching this the wrong way.

Buy the car of your choice, and when the time comes your wife can post on Mumsnet re which pram will go in the front of your car.

Nothing can go wrong.

Haha, test drove a nice supercharged Evora on Sunday but there's no way a pram will fit in that boot so I'd never get use out of the car. The car will be a weekend car which would simply never get used if we couldn't fit a baby in.

thanks - thought that was just the fatter arse, not the less practical front boot shape, silly really but guess its uneconomic

The 997 GT3 uses the front bulkhead of the C4 shell, with the narrow C2 body, and hence the C4 fuel tank. It's all to do with fuel tank positioning and capacity in the race car, rather than the "C4 shell is stiffer" reason that even I used to believe, before Fioran0 corrected me :-)

It is difficult to explain the wide body vs narrow body cars.

I think:

All aircooled cars are narrow body except Super Sport, C2S/C4S (993) and Turbo models.
996 C4s and Turbo are wide body
997 C4, C4S, GTS 2 and 4, Turbo, GT3 RS are all wide body - although I thought the 2wd GTS and GT3 had larger boots?

Sure somebody can correct me :-)

Quinny Zapp fits into all 997/996 variants. I had my Quinny in my C4S cab, Turbo Coupe and Turbo Cab, all of which also had a CD autochanger and DVD changer in the boot which take up space. The buggy can go in just folded down or you can quick release the wheels for even more space if you want to put shopping or squashy bags on top, no problem. Any 2WD will have a lot more space so no worries there either. This a great buggy for 911s
