My 996tt wheels are clean, not Kerbed, the exterior faces are good but they have been touched up in the past (before me). In the barrels they have some big scabs - some have flaked. The rest of the car is pretty mint so it was niggling me, so I bought another set and sent them off to have had them refurbed (I am in France and car care as such is 10 years behind). Just to put the new tyres on the refurbed wheels, then swap over and geo. I want to sell my original set, is popular opinion to refurb or as is? Obviously there is a selling price difference.

I've found that the cost of refurbishing is not recouped when wheels are sold on eBay. I've sold sets that would have cost more to buy and refurbish compared to buying a mint set - I bought a brand new replica set for a Mini, sold the old ropy ones and made a profit, and as a buyer my Cayenne 20" Sport Design wheels cost more by the time they'd been refurbished than a mint set would have cost (the other thing I considered was new replica GTS-style ones, which would also have cost a bit less).
