996 GT3: £100k?
Discussion
In yesterdays news spot "911 GT3: Spotted (again)" by Mike Duff he writes:
"...The best example of this is the 996 GT3. You know, the one that has just had its Nordschleife lap time pretty much matched by a 2.2 ton SUV. Just 106 of the 'mk1' 996 GT3 were registered in the UK, and 247 of the 2003-2005 'mk2', and in consequence they're rarer than hen's fillings. At the moment there are precisely none on sale in the PistonHeads classifieds, and when they do come up they normally create a stampede of buyers wanting to snap them up for considerably north of £100,000..."
Oh really?

Oh really?
few years time they could be nearer that mark
I managed to get a mk2 so very happy
I remember looking 2 years ago and a dark blue mk2 6.3 went for £35k with 40k miles and it was a club sport. £60k plus now.
6.3 RS are well north of £100k now. you are looking at £125k for a half decent 30k miler. low mileage ones are closer to £150k!! if you can find one.
last of the analog non nanny state cars, low numbers so will be collectable and wanted.

Not so. JZM just sold one at less than 115 with 25k miles and it took a while to sell. Advertised vs archived prices are two different things I managed to get a mk2 so very happy

I'd put that down to the time of year more than anything, this year will see some big rises I think along with limits availability again.
Euro is screwed, interest rates touted as not rising for at least 2 yrs.
That's fair point but banking industry along with Hedge Funds had a tough ride so small sector won't be buying investment cars. Euro is screwed, interest rates touted as not rising for at least 2 yrs.
Doesn't suit me personally for their to be a slowdown but I'm just being realistic

I have just had an insurance valuation for my SY mk2 25k car at 58. So personally I will not be surprised to see asking prices in the 60s this spring, given the current paucity of supply. Anyway enough on values and off to get it motd
How did you go about getting the valuation please?I contacted the specialist dealer who I bought the car from to ask their current market view and they kindly offered to provide a valuation certificate which they have done within 48hrs of my original email. And in the process making it more likely I would return as a customer in the future. Simple really.

Is it a comfort or club sport? My CS (14k miles) is now insured for an agreed value of £65k. sportsandclassic said:
Hi, Mine is insured for £60K GT3 CS
Think these will hit £100K in future.
Mike
I agree...recognition of the great driving experience, current price point, and lack of supply is likely to make it so.Think these will hit £100K in future.
Mike
Unfortunately, that is not all welcome as it would also start to dissapear from the usual pitlanes.
