996turbo, aero kit or Gt2 kit
Discussion
Which do prefer between the aero kit and the Gt2 body kit? I prefer the latter, looks like it's there to serve a purpose(and probably does) whilst the former looks like it's there to relieve Porsche customers of some more money. That being said I think it should be the law that 911 turbos have big fat wings on them!

The Aerokit does nothing airflow wise, removal of the front splitter made no difference to either stability or top speed at Vmax.
Maybe your motor functions need recalibrating a tad;) ? The Aero kits do give extra downforce, this is Porsche, they even used to publish the numbers....I had it advertised as I needed the money for a house move, but in the end I just borrowed my tax money out of my company account, sold the wifes Evo 9 and worked lots of weekends to get the money back together to pay my tax bill instead. Wife wasn't happy as we were both selling our cars to fund the move.
Not my fault hers sold and mine didn't though is it? ;-)
She's been asking lately when I'm going to get it advertised again and sold, but really the financially sensible thing to do is keep it while values seem to be on the up. I mean I'd love to get it sold to pay for a load of crap for the new house, like new curtains, bathroom, carpets but we really should keep the money tied up in the 'investment' at the moment since it's the sensible thing to do
I almost have her convinced.

I've got to say my gt2 kitted turbo feels perfectly planted at an indicated 186mph, more planted than other cars I've had feel at 130. The thing that impressed me most was the lack of wind noise. Other cars ive had start whistling through the windows and generally feeling like you are really pushing the limits at high speeds that are well under 186mph. The 996 feels like it's designed to go that fast. No fuss or drama, just another day in the life of being a 996 turbo.
(I spend a lot of time in erm, Germany I suppose)

Values are definitely going up.
(Wife had an Evo9? - she's definitely a keeper as well)
Yeah, shame the Evo had to go to be honest. Was definitely a capable machine. 401bhp, probably a little lighter than the 996? And closer gearing meant it was a good match for the Porsche, and dare I say it possibly faster than it this side of 100 (Don't tell her I said that though)
She's had a few decent motors really for a girl
Evo 9 401bhp
Mazda 3 MPS standard
2004 Impreza WRX standard
Starlet Glanza V (roll cage, standalone, front mount, coilovers etc) maybe 200bhp
Civic VTI with a 1800 engine maybe 170 bhp
Suzuki swift GTI
At the moment she's driving a 325ti auto, so next car we buy will be to replace that and get her in something decent again
