Having just parted with my 996 GT3 today and finally managed to stop crying, I must now replace it with something that is a little less hardcore but still an interesting drive - and still a 911 and normally aspirated rather than turbo. So the 997 GTS/4GTS comes to mind. Anyone got any experiences or advice eg 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive or manual/PDK? Seem to be some nice cars around from independents and OPCs.

I made the switch from a 996.2 to a 4GTS late last year. The GT3 is better in so many ways, however I wasn't finding time to drive it.

The GTS I use everyday and love it, the only thing I'd recommend is replacing the PASM controller with TPC Racing's replacement. Much better.

Fred

Thanks, I'd had the GT3 for over 5 years and really - at my time of life - felt that a change was due and more creature comforts and it wasn't getting used much. Deliberating over PDK/manual though.

How many miles are you doing and on what sort of roads? I've just got a 997 GT3 having had a PDK C4S. I am relying on the good drives outweighing the stop start traffic...

There isn't as much adjustment on the non GT cars; i had my C4S on H&R springs and as aggressive as i could get the geo and it doesn't feel that much different to the GT3 on the road. Definitely needs a Sharkwerks though, whichever one you get.
