Tyreleader.co.uk - Supplier
Discussion
I'm on the hunt for a full set of PS2's for my 997T. These people tyreleader.co.uk seem to be significantly cheaper than the usual suppliers. I know it's a supply only basis, but at these prices it'd still be cheaper than most providers. They look to be based in Germany, but offer free delivery. Has anybody any experience of using them? If so what were your thoughts please?
Cheers,
Rob

My experience of "Tyreleader".
Ordered two tyres for my motorbike, they cancelled the rear tyre without telling me, so only had the front tyre.
When I ordered the tyres they were all in stock, asked why they cancelled and never got a answer. I rechecked the website and they had that tyre in stock, but had put the price up!!!
So I went to "Openeo" instead and paid the £2 extra, with that I got full tracking information and tyre was delevered far quicker, only 2 days.
I wont be using them again, there was issue with them on this link

Evening J.I ordered 4 rear MPS Cup 2's off them ('cos no one in the UK had stock) I tried to buy cheap Cup 1's off them initially, but it turned out they were the wrong load rating. But this didn't come to light until I'd had a 30 minute conversation with a lady there who wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Having established they were the wrong load rating, I then tried to order the more expensive items with the correct load rating. This all went swimmingly until I tried to pay for them, and she informed me I was placing an order for 4 295/30/18 Michelin Pilot Sport 2's............
Rapidly losing the will to live I ended the phone call......
Unable to buy Cup 1's (they've stopped making them) I decided to go with Cups 2's. Mytyres were the only stockists of the rears (they didn't have fronts btw ...)
So rather then spend another hour on the phone........, I ordered the 4 rears off Mytyres and 4 fronts off Openeo.
Both were ordered on a Thursday. The whole process took 50 minutes. On Friday morning I received an email off MT saying that they were undertaking a security check and needed me to fax a copy of a recent utility bill through to them ....... I did this within two hours of receiving there email.
On Monday morning I received an email reminding me to pay for the tyres I'd ordered. Fortunately I'd taken a screenshot of the Sage Pay page on my PC.
So somewhat f*cked off I rang them to explain that I had already paid.
Initially they were insistent that I hadn't, at which point I got somewhat snotty and told them to check their system more carefully. After waiting five minutes on the phone they concurred that I had indeed paid ......
That same day Openeo delivered all four front tyres to Silverstone, Mytyres meanwhile delivered one rear tyre..........
The following day I received an email from Mytyres saying all four rear tyres would be delivered ten days hence !
I rang them and asked what the f*ck was going on ?
The lady I spoke to said the email had been sent in error and that the tyres would be delivered ten days hence.
I pointed out one of the tyres had already been delivered !!!! She disappeared and came back saying it looked as if they didn't have stock of the remaining tyres and thus she'd have to check availability .......
I responded by saying "Yea, whatever".
Said lady rang me back and left an answerphone message informing me they didn't have stock and she was trying to find out when they'd be back in stock (I'd previously spoken to my usual local tyre supplier who'd rung Michelin UK to be told a batch of Cup 2's would be manufactured on the 28th March) But I couldn't wait that long for them as my car was booked in for suspension work along with ride height and corner weighting.
But I digress
Utterly pissed off I rang Mytyres and requested clarification on the availability of the remaining tyres. I spoke to a somewhat belligerent individual who hung up on me .....I duly rang back and spoke to him again, and after a few minutes established some kind of rapport with him.
He assured me they did have stock, and they would be sent out for delivery on the previously specified date.
Two further tyres duly turned up 4 days earlier than expected. Later that day I received an email saying my Mytyres order was now complete. Except it wasn't, I still only had three tyres........
I rang them again and explained that the original shipment only contained one tyre not two. Albeit the one tyre they'd delivered had the remnants of the shrinkwrap they use to lash two tyres together .......
The individual I spoke to was very apologetic and said that one tyre has clearly been lost in transit. But he said it wasn't an issue, another tyre would be sent FOC. I asked for an email confirming the above. And he said it wouldn't be an issue.
Their email arrived 30 minutes later. But it wasn't a confirmation letter, it was a PDF containing a sworn affidavit for me to sign and fax back to them ....... !!!
Now as I'm frequently not at home, I'd had the tyres delivered to Silverstone. The affidavit needed re wording to say I'd received 3 of the 4 tyres, not none tyres at all. So I had to spend 20 minutes photoshopping it to make it factually correct.
Having done so I scanned it and emailed it Silverstone for them to sign, date and stamp it with their company service stamp. Due to unforeseen circumstances this took 3 days (I actually ended up driving down to Silverstone to get it S, D & S)
I duly emailed the completed document back to Mytyres four days after I'd received it. I then received an email stating the final tyre would be delivered this Thursday. Knowing I wasn't going to be around, I rang them to change the delivery address.
The tyre arrived unannounced last Friday ......... (albeit at the correct address)
Lost the will to live ? I had. Never ever again. Tw*ts.

Believe me, I'll never order tyres online again. I've been using a local supplier for the last twenty years without a problem. I should have been more patient and waited until the 28th, I suspect it would've been simpler and less stressful in the long run .........

I've used Tyreleader in the past and not really had any issues - ordered online and they simply turned up a few days later. I bought a set of Cup 2's recently but went with Event Tyres instead as they weren't massively more expensive and had the added convenience of coming to my home to fit them.
That sounds like a nightmare slippydiff, are mytyres the same outfit as tyreleader?
I had a much better experience, albeit for more mundane rubber; I used tyreleader for a set of four 17 inch tyres for my partner's Mini a couple of weeks ago. Price was excellent, postage from Germany was free and I had them delivered to one or their affiliated fitters, took 4 days. Then a few days later they were fitted and aligned, all went very smoothly. Only thing that was a little sketchy was Deutsche Post's tracking info was a bit limited, and I didn't get any phone call or email confirmation to say they'd been delivered like the website said. I'm going to get new rubber for my Porsche when I get the wheels repainted so I'll get a quote from tyre leader then, but might see how much Chris at Exel would charge as that might be more convenient.

Tyre giant are offering an extra discount to PH members, you need to contact Travis (dopamine) who is a PH member and he will sort an extra discount for you.
I used them for a couple of rear Conti's on my 993 and the price was so good that my local tyre centre who fitted them said he couldn't even buy them in at that price.

Pretty sure you can buy them brand new from OPC Hatfield with brand new tyres for £2400 inc of vat. Thats a pretty good offer they have going as tyres alone must be not far of £1000 so £1400 for the wheels. If you're a PCGB member think you may get another 10% off.
Thanks!
I spoke to Hatfield this morning - no such £2400 deal. They're £3800 inc VAT now. Thanks!
Back on the hunt then.............................

when I was there on Sunday, they had a set of Fuchs with tyres from the Sport Classic on display for sale .. was definitely less than £3800.Back on the hunt then.............................
I think Guildford and West London have similar sets too.
I had a good deal on a S/H set of wheels from these guys a few years ago: http://9apart.co.uk/alloy-wheels-63-c.asp
