So, I went ahead and did Plastidip on the wheels. From stock gunmetal grey to Matt Vintage Gold. Was just 80 quid over here in Dubai for all 4. (That includes removal when I want to)
I have to say, I like it. Anyways, thought I would post in case anyone else thinking they might go Matt Vintage Gold rims.

Really cool. How's life with a GT3 in Dubai - how does it cope with the heat? and don't you stress about the standard of some of the driving?!

To answer some questions:
It seems pretty durable, its around 30 Degrees most days here and I do park it outside some of the time so it gets hot. I drive the car regularly and give it some and the plastidip has been fine, although it has only been about a month. There is no flaking at all and it isnt peeling. They also give a 3 year warranty, so even if it does then I will just take it back to get redone. Of course, if you curb it then its not covered.
I didnt want to fork out a load to paint them. Besides, more fun as you can play about a lot more without changing the colour of the car...which ultimately reduces the value in the long term.
Its fine driving over here, 10 times better than in the UK. Ok, Europe as a whole has nice roads which are better, but in the UK its a bloody nightmare in my opinion. There is too much damn traffic, god knows how many man hole covers, volvo drivers, small side roads, different road surfaces, rain...you name it. In Dubai all the roads are new, they are smooth and great surface. No manholes, no rain. We get a little sand from time to time but with the cars on the road it doesnt last long on major routes. I hack it to work everytday and its a joy, very little traffic and whats also nice is the roads are very big/wide and we dont have oncoming traffic. What I mean is, we have a divider in the middle for both A and B Roads, unlike in the UK where 90% of the time on a B road you have a car coming the other way. (Which is dangerous if they lose it as you hit oncoming traffic)
The GT3 deals with the weather fine. Generally speaking its 26-30 degress here from Oct to June anyway, the way british summers are when its nice (Rarity). Only in July to Sept is it 30-40 Degress and even then the |GT3 is fine. You dont park your car outside as the aircon takes time to cool the car as everything is hot...just have to park in the shade in summer thats all.
All in all, Dubai is a great place to drive. Yes people dont use indicators and are frustrating, but they are everywhere. The roads are certainly safer here. As a biker and a car driver I can say that. (Although if you are a biker you need loud pipe as it helps)
