Whats the best 991 GT3 RS colour to go for?
As a special - Riviera / Mexico or Viper Green (Now Porsche Green)????

Viper is different to porsche green - as used on 997 GT3RS.

I trying to make mine Porsche Green code 2D8? Just says Green on the sheet - I think this is the 997.1 RS Colour?

Not sure if they will do the cage and stitching etc? Or will have to live with the grey stitching?

Also grey wheels I think will wear better...

Is this thread presumptuous or have they confirmed the availability of paint to sample now? The last I heard it was not available and there was no confirmation that it ever would be...

Or is the discussion about wrapping?

Customers are ordering cars costing £150 K, Porsche would be unwise not to allow PTS for that and many other reasons. And when I ordered my 7.2 RS after all the normal colours were built they did a batch or more of PTS. It did add 6 extra months to the delivery and build.

Yes and no - are they going to be left with unsold cars if they don't offer it? Doubtful...

The thing that I had heard is that there were paint issues holding up a decision on PTS - something about the magnesium roof. Do you have any info on that or is it one to write up to the keyboard warriors? History has proven that paint issues can be much more of a headache for Porsche than not offering a colour choice (though ironically the best known car for paint problems was the one that didn't have a choice of paint colour: the 996 RS).

Personally I suspect that it will be offered, but that they want to get as many cars as possible spec locked before they confirm it as - frankly - otherwise they would be doing most of the run as PTS cars.

I asked for Blood Orange for my 7.2 RS and as you said there was a POSSABILITY of paint issues in that Porsche would spray a number of test panels and charge me 5K plus just for the test, if it worked they would not guarantee they would in fact do the painting in Blood Orange.

My answer is the colour YOU want, not what someone else wants. It might even be one of the four available. I had guards red for my 7.1 GT3 and it was what I wanted. Looked great too.

Spec Help / Thoughts.....

1. Has anybody ordered the extended leather its hard to see exactly what you get with that?
2. Do you think the orange centre seat colour would wear well versus getting dirty looking through time....Track days etc....
3. It show the cars coming with a yellow rev counter in standard spec's but no sign of that on the preview cars? I'm considering the white dials....
