I'm asking for a friend, can you use the standard seat runners to fit recaros? He has seats and side brackets ordered but unsure about the runners!

If you mean the runners on the comfort / sport seats then no. You need the runners for the buckets seats. You can either go OEM or after market for these, after market will need an adaption plate to secure to the car. Which ever way you go make sure you take into consideration how you are going to secure the seat belt buckle because the runners don't have a securing point like the comfort / sport seat runners.

I used the design 911 sliders & side mounts in my 986S Boxster - I though they were fine - and half the price of the Brey Krause ones. The have mounts for belt buckles & no modification or fabrication required.
