911 Turbo advise
Discussion
Hi,
After years of owning BMW's I decided to try a 911 turbo. The one I'm looking at is an 06 plate 911 turbo.

Just wanted to know what to look at for? The car has had 6 previous owners and the last service was done by a specialist instead.
I'm p/ex my 2012 M5. Please, as this is my first Porsche I wanted to know what to look at for.

I've recently bought a 2010 997.2 PDK turbo
Was going to buy a late 2009 997.1 manual car however ASM bought both cars prior to me getting the funds in place and readvertised the cars with a £6k premium. Do the currently have the 09 plate red car and 59plate black car in stock for £59995?
Decided to buy a 997.2 car in the end however they are £20k + more that the car your looking at.
My advice for your budget would be to get a manual car, Also all the advice you need is on www.911uk.com
Be patient and search for the right car with manual gearbox.
Best of luck with the search

My p/ex for my M5 is £38 plus £5k cash. That's really the Max I can go.
The car is up for £45k but I've told him the max I can pay him on top plus my car is £5k and he's accepted.
Can't really find another £20k for a PDK newer car.
Not sure what your M5 is actually work. The car is up for £45k but I've told him the max I can pay him on top plus my car is £5k and he's accepted.

However £43k for a 997.1 turbo in the current climate sounds reasonable.
Does the car come with warranty. If it passes the porsche 111 check you could get 12 months Porsche OPC warranty for around £1020. Available until the car is 10 years old
Have you viewed and driven the car yet?
As I previously said gave a look on www.911uk.com for some purchasing advise and things to look out for.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't believe it comes with any Porsche warranty. I'm going to view the car tomorrow. How do I get the 111 check done?

And I doubt the OPC will warranty it if their non Porsche items fitted, unless you pay to replace them, battery, brakes, tyres, etc so might be a waste of a 111 point check if you know it'll cost you a few hundred extra to put it 'right'
Yeah. I thought this would be the case. I'm off to see the car tomorrow, then I'll decide. Thanksr1flyguy1 said:

3 months ago went from M6 to 997.1 manual, but previous owner put it through the 111 point check and added Porsche warranty as conditional part of sale. The warranty is transferable.Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
