Hi Everyone,

I could really do with any information on how to get a EuroCup GT Twin Intake Carbon Fibre Y Pipe kit working properly on my C4S.

This was fitted by the previous owner along with a GT3 throttle body, plenum chamber, 200 cell cats and EuroCup manifolds. I asked if the intake and system worked ok and that the emissions were ok and was told it worked spot on and he showed me the emissions report from the previous MOT. He appeared honest.......

The car on test drive was spot on. On picking the car up a few days later it appeared to 'miss' during cruise. Normal driving was initially fine over a month or so. The idle then started to become erratic.

The MOT was due and it flailed due to high CO and HC. The garage, Zentrum, who I have every respect for, advised replacing the cats without any diagnosis. I took time out to look on the Internet and things pointed to the intake and/or MAF sensor.

I'd read good things about Cavendish, another Indy, and they agreed some fault diagnosis should be undertaken. It was agreed I would drop the car off for 4 to 6 hours diagnosis. I was then messed around for 4 weeks and eventually got the car back after they could only get the car through the MOT by putting on a standard airbox with another MAF. On picking up the car it was also obvious someone there had caught the front splitter on a speed bump or ramp, cracking it and damaging the paint in various places. They offered to 'touch it up' if I took it back for a service. They were also 'kind enough' to give me a second hand 997 airbox to 'play with'. Reasoning is that my car is fitted with a turbo spoiler with fully working hydraulic rams. A standard airbox, 996 or 997, does not clear the RH ram.

Being glad just to get the car back, I gave my opinion of service received and took my car home. The car ran worse than ever with the EuroCup intake back on. On speaking to the Porscheshop, who supply this product, they gave the opinion that their intake works without any issues. I've written to them and EuroCup and received no replies.

I'm currently running the car with a 997 airbox, courtesy of Cavendish, that I've modified to allow the engine cover to close. I've had the emissions tested with this set-up and they are slightly high, out of limits, but much lower than when it failed the MOT with the EuroCup intake.

So if any of the members have any experience I'd really appreciate how you get this intake and MAF to work......and remember if a car seller appears more than honest, he just might not be as honest as you think. He didn't even have the balls to answer any queries when I was trying to sort his mess out. Ps, if you've got to the end of this, thanks.
