Owners are out enjoying them. Great cars.

Others not talking about feckin price rises, appreciation and the bubble bursting etc which I just find dull as now

Sadly it's more likely because of the low numbers and escalating values, they've all been bought up and put in collections by speculators who don't use them!

The owners I know are still using their cars on a regular basis, it's never been a hugely discussed model on these forums. I'd imagine that some of the cars sold in the last 12 months will have gone off the roads into people's pension planning but as I said the owners I know are still using them.

My 997 was out last night tearing up the roads, I don't use it much at the moment but that's not because of the value just not getting the time.

Well I don't like to disappoint you all but I've had mine for 7 years now and I don't use it much maybe 10 times a year in the summer. But I will say every time I use it I feel a sense of occasion and I really enjoy owning it , the level of enjoyment I get from the car is amazing. The 996 gt2 is a awsome car I never clean it I get it valeted after I use it.
I bought the car from the first owner and I didn't even test drive it and driving home I didn't even realise how amazing the car was but after getting used to it I found it a inspirational drive different and better to any car or motorbike I have ever owned or been in. I intend keeping the car forever and enjoying it each and every time I use it. A couple of weeks ago I bought a Tickford capri which I intend to use a similar amount purely for enjoyment.

When I first got my car I was on pistonheads daily owners often discussed the 996 gt2 I guess time change

I bought my 996 in 2008, 997 in 2012. I remember there being a bit more discussion on here about the GT2 but not loads of threads. It seems like the Porsche forum on here is pretty much dominated by blokes clambering over each other to get on the list for the newest model with profit potential regardless of whether they actually want to own it.

Took advantage of a balmy North Yorkshire evening to have a gentle blast on some of the local rural roads. Perfect ground for the 996 GT2.

......and so different from my everyday 997 turbo.

More pictures of your 997 GT2 please, best looking WC 911 IMHO

I remember seeing that come up for sale two or so months after I bought my 996T. I remember it was for sale for not a huge amount more than I paid, and I REALLY wanted a 996 GT2 at the time. If only I was still on the lookout..

Had my 997 out for the last 2 days on the run to and from work. No hidden away polishing for me!

Adam B, this piccie from December on a cold wet winters day. Parked in an industrial estate in Liverpool. Try to get it out for a run at least once every 2 weeks. Just try to avoid the salt in winter as much as possible.

I couldn't sell it mate on the market for ages, hardest to sell 911 I ever owned. 911 Virgin bought it off me in the end.
